What is UniPrint Infinity™?
UniPrint Infinity is the industry’s first printer-vendor independent managed print solution for any computing environment. Based on UniPrint’s patented PDF-based Universal Printer Driver and Virtual Print Queue, UniPrint Infinity simplifies printer management and enables anywhere, anytime, any device secure pull printing across different platforms, offices and geographies.
How does UniPrint Infinity work?
Connecting to the UniPrint application server, a user prints from any application. UniPrint then encrypts and converts the print data into PDF, which compresses the print job by as much as 90%.
This results in reducing bandwidth utilization and enabling faster and more reliable print job transmission. The print job can then be “pulled” by the authenticated user and print to any selected printer. For added security, a password-protected secure PIN can be added to the print job.
What is Virtual Print Queue (VPQ)?
Based on UniPrint’s Virtual Print Infrastructure, your Systems Administrator only needs to set up one print queue for users. After the user prints to the VPQ, he/she can walk over to the nearest print station with the vPad, and then authenticate to release the print job.
Technology
What are vPads?
Connected to your network like any networking devices, the vPad is a user authentication device with touch screen capability to release print jobs. It can be configured to provide access to multiple printers regardless of make or model. The vPad supports any smart cards, key FOBs, RFID and HID access cards.
What is the vPad CE?
The vPad CE is a plug and play device specifically designed to facilitate print stream compression solving bandwidth issues and promoting consistently fast remote printing across multiple geographical locations, when deployed with the UniPrint Infinity software. The print appliance can also replace a remote site Windows print server allowing it to be consolidated into the data center.
What are UniPrint VPQ Connectors?
VPQ Connectors are software-based extensions that enable users to release print jobs on multifunction printers compatible with Samsung eXtensible Open Architecture (XOA), HP Open Extensibility Platform – Device Layer (OXPd) Brother Solution Interface (BSI) and Xerox Extensible Interface Platform (EIP).
Users can release print jobs securely and on demand to any printer anywhere within the organization’s multi-vendor printer environment, while saving the organization money, reducing energy expenditures and improving security.
