User Stories: How a Cloud Hosting IT Team Increased Client Efficiency
What is your job role and responsibilities at your company?
I’m Bob Pelzer, the IT Manager and this is Wynn Fangmeier, an IT Analyst at TEAM Software. TEAM Software is an independent software vendor that makes software for the back-end process of janitorial and security guard companies.
We provide ERP systems to cover everything from accounting, HR, budgeting, and timekeeping software.
There’s a lot of high turnover, a lot of HR needs in those industries with not a lot of ops personnel to do it, so we help automate and accelerate the process.
What is your current IT environment?
We are Window’s based with SQL server so we’re heavy on web products and we rely on Citrix for a lot of support.
When users are connecting to our network they may be based in a home office or central office, but there are ops managers, field officers, and they could be connecting from anything!
They can log in through Citrix and they basically get a desktop that has their products that they can use and it connects to their database – there’s a lot of data entry like timekeeping, HR, and accounting. We have a lot of touchpoints with our clients.
What types of print-related issues were you facing in your specific role?
We were having struggles with native printing and printing in a Citrix environment.
At the time, it was just the two of us and we didn’t have the manpower to tackle all these printing issues.
Our clients require the ability to print everything from basic documents, weekly schedules and job site reports to customized documents such as paychecks and tax reporting forms.
They need consistent access to stable printing and accurately formatted documents no matter where they are.
